I've seen this tag going around YouTube and at first I was sceptical about the whole shabang, but as always, this little sucker of a tag drew me in and now it's all I've been able to watch. So, here is my version of the beauty rainbow.
Red: MAC Diva Lipstick £14
A red lipstick, yes I know it's very cliché of me but MAC's Diva is my all time favourite lipstick and it definitely deserved a mention. True to it's name, I do truly feel like a diva when I'm wearing this. It's a matte red and unlike some other MAC mattes (cough cough Ruby Woo) it isn't too drying. Layered up, this baby will last me all night.
Orange: Real Techniques Contour Brush £21.99
I am all about Real Techniques brushes, they're affordable yet do the job so well. In particular, their contour brush is marvellous, it fits into my cheek bones perfectly, it's versatile and can be used to tame blush or set concealer quickly. It's also as soft a wee baby's bottom. I like the fact that it has a flat base so you can stand it up, very nifty. All in all it's a very nice brush. Kudos to you, Samantha Chapman.
Yellow: Bastiste Dry Shampoo Tropical £2.99
This stuff is fabulous, if you haven't discovered dry shampoo yet...where have you been? Batiste is one of my favourite brands of dry shampoo, it doesn't leave too much white powdery powder in my hair and smells like utter bliss. This tropical one smells sweet and coconutty and I can guarantee your nostrils will love you for the rest of the day after giving your hair a zap with this can of delights.
Green: Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara £9.99
I really am fond of this product, not quite sure if I believe it has lash growing qualities, but never the less it does a jolly good job of loving my lashes. The main thing I like about it is the brush, I'm not a big fan of plastic brushes and this mascara reminds me why, it adds so much thickness to my lashes without them looking flaky and trust me my dear, flaky eyelashes are never a good thing. Whilst thickening, it also lengthens, so for me this little tube of wonder definitely deserves a mention.
Blue: Soap and Glory Face & Clarity Face Soap £7.00
This stuff is just WOW. It is honestly like face heaven, it smells scrumptious, feels scrumptious and probably even tastes scrumptious. It is fair to say I am in love. This face exfoliator will leave your skin feeling sparkly clean and super duper soft, the tiny micro beads aren't harsh on the skin at all and the smell leaves you so refreshed and gives you that "ahhhh" feeling, who wouldn't want that for dinner?
Purple: Revlon Nail Enamel in Charming £6.49
I normally hate pastel colours but I brought this on a whim and I'm very glad I did. Revlon nail polish formulas are up there with the big boys, 2 coats and bam you are done and they dry uber quick, which is great for someone like me who is 1)awful at painting nails and 2)awful at waiting for nails to dry. I especially love this colour because it complements my skin tone, normally I don't give a monkey's uncle what goes with my skin but I do think this suits me, if I do say so myself.
Pink: L'Oreal Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Micellar Solution £4.99
Lastly, I have this little find which I love love love! It's basically L'Oreal's answer to Bio-derma, but much easier to get your mitts on and much cheaper too. I really like this because it takes all your make-up off in a swipe and doesn't smudge it all around your face, brilliant if you wear heavy eye-liner, i.e me. Another bonus jonus about this product is that it seems to be lasting me forever, it is one Mary Poppin's handbag indeed. I use it every day to take my make-up off and then wack some moisturiser on afterwards and my skin feels so luscious and clean! Cheap and cheerful, my kind of product.
Well there you have it, my favourite products of the rainbow!
